At a time of declining rates of response to surveys, Gwendolyn Ebbett is very pleased to have seen increased participation in the Leddy Library’s web questionnaire on its services.
“We actually increased our response rate over the previous survey three years ago,” says Ebbett, dean of the library.
She says the library will use the responses to better understand how the University community rates library services and where staff can concentrate efforts towards improving services.
A cookie tastes a little sweeter when it’s free, says Lindsay Thompson.
The second-year kinesiology major was one of hundreds of UWindsor students to enjoy a freebie from the Leddy Library on Tuesday.
Librarians distributed free cookies, coffee and tea as a goodwill gesture to students preparing for final examinations. Sales of decommissioned books helped to pay for the event.
“It’s awesome,” said second-year environmental science student Colette Drouillard. “It’s very nice for them to do this for us. Plus, I like free stuff!”
The Leddy Library has begun round-the-clock operations to accommodate study for final exams.
The library will stay open from Sunday at 10 a.m. through Friday, until 2 a.m. Saturday. It will re-open Saturday at 10 a.m. and close at 2 a.m. that night, then re-open Sunday at 10 a.m.
The library will close at midnight Friday, April 26, and maintain the following schedule through its spring recess, which ends Sunday, May 5:
