Student research conference to fête award winners

Sharing her work at the 2024 UWill Discover Sustainable Futures conference, March 19 to 24, was an opportunity to share her passions with the UWindsor community, says Dami Babs-Olorunfemi.

The third-year nursing student’s poster, “Fecal Microbiota Transplantation as a Mental Health Intervention,” received a gold medal as the best in nursing.

“Winning an award was a gift of recognition and has helped me affirm the worthwhile pursuit of knowledge through scholarship,” Babs-Olorunfemi says.

She is one of the award-winning presenters who will be honoured at a reception Friday celebrating the achievements of the conference participants, the UWill Model United Nations Team, the Outstanding Scholars students, the UWill Discover Ambassadors, and the STEMx Policy Team.

Faculty, students, family, and guests will have a chance to hear some of the top presentations.

“Seeing the award-winning highlights is a program you don’t want to miss,” says Tim Brunet, project lead of the conference. “Celebrating the excellent efforts of all the students who participated in UWill Discover Sustainable Futures conference is a lot of fun.”

The event will begin at 4 p.m. April 5 in the Toldo Health Education Centre and is open to the campus community. Sign up to attend.
