Treatment of borderline personality disorder subject of colloquium

The psychology department will welcome Ueli Kramer as its speaker in the Psychology Colloquium Series on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m.

Dr. Kramer is a professor of psychiatry and psychotherapy, psychotherapy researcher, and clinical psychotherapist, and director of the Institute of Psychotherapy at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds an adjunct appointment at the UWindsor psychology department.

His research focuses on process and outcome in psychotherapy, in particular the mechanisms of change in treatments of personality disorders, and case formulation in personality disorders.

Kramer will talk about his recent research, “Emotional change as mechanism of change in brief treatments for borderline personality disorder: results of a randomized controlled trial.”

Kramer has published over 180 scientific contributions, and 10 books. He is president of the European Society for the Study of Personality Disorders and past president of the European Society for Psychotherapy Research.
