Event to open campus to visitors Saturday

Building on the momentum generated at the Ontario Universities’ Fair in Toronto this past weekend, organizers are putting the finishing touches on UWindsor’s Fall Open House, coming Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Director of student recruitment Beth Natale calls the event a critically important milestone in the recruitment calendar.

“The entire campus community has come together to prepare a day that is jam-packed with opportunities to experience Lancer life, get to know our people, learn about the amazing academic options at UWindsor, and get a feel for our beautiful campus,” she says.

Event check-in takes place at the Toldo Lancer Centre, and activities will take place throughout campus, including downtown. Shuttle service will be available to transport guests from the Welcome Centre, downtown campus, and the Toldo Lancer Centre, and complimentary coach bus service will ease the journey for guests coming from the Greater Toronto Area.

Participants will have the chance to connect with student leaders, meet professors and staff, choose from more than 60 information sessions, and get a feel for campus facilities: from classrooms, to labs, social and study spaces, and residences.

“In short, with a large team of enthusiastic volunteers, faculty, staff, and students, we’re gearing up to showcase all the UWindsor has to offer,” Natale says.

“The energy of UWindsor’s Open House is second to none, and this year it will be capped off with a playoff football game at the end of the day in Alumni Stadium — the perfect ending to a high-energy day that will leave no doubt that UWindsor is an exceptional choice!”

She invites members of campus community wishing to be part of the day to sign up as a volunteer.
