Faculty and staff invited to extend welcome to new students

Mark your calendars for the Welcoming Celebration, Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. in the Toldo Lancer Centre.

The orientation event will gather incoming students for reception into the University community.

Shetina M. Jones, associate vice-president, student experience, especially invited staff and faculty to attend.

“We're excited to welcome our students to campus with the support and help of our faculty and staff. With the assistance of faculty and staff we reinforce to our students why UWindsor is an engaged and connected campus community,” Dr. Jones says. “Please join in the excitement. I encourage you to invite fellow colleagues to participate, too. I can't wait to see you there!”

She notes that it falls on the first UWindsor Wednesday of the fall semester: “so put on your Lancer gear and bring your UWindsor spirit!” Jones has something very special for the employee demonstrating the most school spirit.

Highlights of the festivities include a travelling photo booth, student prize draws, and a few inspiring words of welcome from senior administrators, who will also announce the winners of the Battle of the Faculties competition for participation in UWindsor Welcome Week activities.
