Police training exercise highlights commitment to safety

The emergency training simulation conducted Wednesday in and around Memorial Hall went “very well,” says Kevin Beaudoin, acting director of Campus Community Police.

“The exercise was an opportunity to test our readiness along with showcasing the strong relationship between the University of Windsor’s Campus Community Police and the Windsor Police Service,” Beaudoin said. “We tested many facets of our Emergency Preparedness plans, including our Emergency Notification System, which worked very well.”

He encourages students, faculty, and staff to download the Safe Lancer app and update their information in the UWindsor Alert portal.

Beaudoin expressed thanks to the participating community partners — the Windsor Police Service and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services.

“These teams of exceptional professionals clearly demonstrate their dedication to keeping our community safe,” he said. “This occasion highlighted the importance of preparedness to ensure a co-ordinated and effective response to emergency situations.”
