Partnership to fuel tech park with top student talent

A partnership between the University of Windsor and the Kanata North Business Association and Hub350, Canada’s largest tech hub, will help bridge the industry talent gap, foster innovation, and connect students with more than 500 companies in the technology sector, says Judy Bornais, executive director of the Office of Experiential Learning.

“Partnering with the KNBA and Hub350 is a tremendous opportunity for us to help fuel the tech park with the best and brightest student talent from the University of Windsor,” she says.

“We are committed to preparing our students for successful careers in the tech industry and this partnership will help us achieve that goal by giving the access to one of the largest concentrations of tech in Canada.”

Joining forces with the business association and Hub350, will enhance the capacity of the University’s Office of Co-operative Education and Workplace Partnerships, the Office of Research and Innovation, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Engineering to connect students with industry-leading companies and contribute to the growth and development of Canada’s vibrant tech ecosystem.

Kanata North is part of the city of Ottawa, and Bornais notes that the collaboration will expand the University’s presence in the national capital region, showcasing its comprehensive program catalogue, educational methodologies, and pipeline of student talent and skills.

“Students will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful experiential learning, research projects, internships, and co-op placements, enabling them to gain real-world experience and develop the skills necessary to thrive in the tech industry,” Bornais says.

“We are excited to showcase our exceptional programs and talented students to the thriving tech community in Kanata North. Together, we can build a strong talent pipeline and drive innovation that will benefit the entire region.”
