Trivia contest demands more than educated guesses from winner

Tom McNorton, a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education, won Monday’s DailyNews trivia quiz.

McNorton’s entry was drawn from among all those which correctly identified chlorine as the element with atomic number 17, haiku as a 17-syllable form of poetry, Billy Wilder as director of Stalag 17, the cribbage hand 3 4 5 5 5 as adding up to 17 points, and Janis Ian as the singer-songwriter of At Seventeen.

For his victory in the 17-themed contest, McNorton will receive the prize of a UWindsor-themed umbrella and photo frame, donated by the Office of Alumni and Donor Communications.
