Competition invites students to float business ideas and win up to $1,500

Students can put their innovation skills to the test in a competition hosted by the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre.

The Blue Sky Competition invites students to form multi-disciplinary teams to develop business ideas revolving around a secret theme revealed at the kick-off event. Entrants then spend three weeks producing two-minute videos pitching their ideas. A panel of judges will award winners up to $1,500 and an all-expenses paid trip to Toronto.

“This event is perfect if you are interested in entrepreneurship, want to meet students in different disciplines across campus, want a taste of starting a business, or just want to win great prizes,” says the centre’s operations manager, Nicole Sleiman.

The kick-off meet and greet session—mandatory for contestants—is Thursday, February 27, and the final judging is March 20.
