Renovations to Odette Building south wing to grow business school

Construction work has begun on the south wing of the Odette Building, transforming the former site of the University Bookstore into learning and study spaces, seminar and meeting rooms, and centres for projects and research.

The project has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the Odette families, who donated $3 million towards expansion of the business school which bears their name.

Dean Allan Conway expressed his gratitude for their continued generosity.

“This donation will allow the Odette School of Business to strengthen our students’ leadership development even more and, partly as a consequence, to increase our regional, national, and international impact,” he said.

The new designs include the following amenities:

  • a 100-seat auditorium to host first-year business courses;
  • a 60-seat video conference case room to host graduate classes;
  • a large seminar and lounge area for workshops, events, and receptions;
  • project and research centres, including an entrepreneurship centre;
  • 50 quiet individual study carrels and numerous student meeting rooms.
